Well, it’s excellent judging by the results of two recent online auctions for which the club donated prizes.
The club donated two lots, each consisting of a day’s fishing for two people as prizes for the Wild Trout Trust’s online auction. It also donated a day’s fishing for two people for the BASC (British Association of Shooting & Conservation) online auction. Both auctions have now taken place with the two lots donated to the Wild Trout Trust selling for £51 and £86, and the lot donated to BASC selling for a staggering £280.
An excellent result for both organisations, helped no doubt by the fact that based on annual catch returns, the Afon Clwyd is consistently classed as one of the top four sea trout rivers in Wales and also has a growing reputation as a quality wild brown trout fishery. Recognition too for the quality of the fishing the club can provide its members.
Do we realise how lucky we are to have access to the quality and the amount of year-round fishing available to members for the price we pay? Dare we remind you; if you’re a full member, your fishing could cost as little as 36p a day or 25p a day if you’re a senior member? Now there’s a bargain for any angler.
